Job Description

VersaDesk is seeking an experienced Sales Director to lead our enterprise sales effort. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales leadership, a proven track record of success in B2B sales, and expertise in selling to government, education, and commercial sectors.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Develop and Execute Sales Strategy:
  • Develop and implement a strategic sales plan to drive revenue growth within the government, education, and commercial sectors.
  • Identify key accounts, verticals, and opportunities for expansion.
  1. Team Leadership:
  • Lead and mentor a team of sales professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and support to help them achieve sales targets.
  • Foster a high-performance culture focused on collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  1. Client Relationship Management:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Understand their needs, challenges, and objectives to position our products/services effectively.
  1. New Business Development:
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the target sectors.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to acquire new clients and expand our market share.
  1. Strategic Partnerships:
  • Collaborate with internal teams to identify and leverage strategic partnerships that can enhance our sales efforts and drive mutual growth objectives.
  1. Sales Forecasting and Reporting:
  • Track sales performance, analyze trends, and prepare accurate sales forecasts.
  • Provide regular updates to senior management on sales progress, challenges, and opportunities.
  1. Contract Negotiation:
  • Lead contract negotiations with clients, ensuring favorable terms and conditions that align with company objectives and mitigate risks.
  1. Market Intelligence:
  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory changes affecting the government, education, and enterprise sectors. 
  • Use market intelligence to inform sales strategies and tactics.

Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Proven experience in sales leadership roles, with a focus on government, education, or enterprise sales.
  • Strong understanding of sales principles, techniques, and best practices.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with senior-level decision-makers.
  • Track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Strategic thinker with a results-driven mindset.
